The Lager Rhythms, an eight (seven?? No! No! EIGHT!!!) member vocal ensemble of varying heights, have been known to sing in public an eclectic mix of songs from folk and rock to jazz standards and originals. They were founded in 1994 by 5 friends who knew each other partly from math and computer classes but mostly from bartending at Valhalla, the graduate student pub at Rice University. While over the years their dedication to academics has diminished, their dedication to beer has not, and their ranks have grown to actually include people who are not and have never been graduate students, but NO ONE who doesn't know where to find a good pint. The Lager Rhythms have released three CDs, Aftermath, Strange Charm, and Band Gap, all three of which are professionally shrink wrapped.
