< Days 6 thru 9 >

They're still boring. Newborns, I think, of any species, are exciting for about a day, unless you're their mom, and then they become sort of a cute and, depending on species, possibly fuzzy chore. There isn't much to write about still. They do maybe one new cute thing per day, and that's about it. Not worth more than a caption...

Ok, this is cute. Day 6, and I learn that thumbs are universal substitutes for nipples, and that all newborns like to suck. You don't have to believe that Cider is really sucking his thumb, and might prefer to believe this is just a random "paw passing in front of face" shot, but I was so startled the first time I saw the behavior, I actually waited, camera in hand, for like an hour until he did it again. If I had audio, you'd hear the little "thsip, thsip" sound.

Not a great picture, but day 7 has Bass sleeping with his tongue out. Again, it's a very newborn "I'm dreaming of titties" kind of thing. (sorry for the non PG part...)

They're starting to outgrow the box. Next week I'm going to have to figure out something new. They're almost starting to crawl. When they open their eyes and start actually becoming active, I'm going to need a bigger box. I know. Duh.
